I’m Greg Stasko, a craftsman with over thirty years in the vintage racing and restoration industry. I learned to work on racing cars at the Jim Russell Racing School at Laguna Seca in 1991, then began my career in Seattle working on English sports and racing machinery from Austin Healey, Lotus, Elva, Lola and others.
Prior to Jim Russell, I studied automotive design at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, and I have a degree in Industrial Design Technology from the Art Institute of Seattle. In addition to my mechanical abilities, I am a writer and artist with broad experience including web design, graphics, software development, copywriting and technical documentation.
In 2006 I joined Phil Reilly & Co., one of the premier restoration shops in the United States. Over nearly a decade there, I assembled engines for pre-war Alfa Romeos, Bugattis, and Maseratis among other significant marques. In addition to my specialty of engine assembly, I’ve accumulated experience across many other areas of mechanical restoration, from fabrication to running machine tools.
Since setting out on my own in 2015 as Traveling With Tools, I have continued to seek new challenges and to broaden my experience base. Operating from a mobile studio lets me bring my tools and experience directly to the cars and clients who need them.
Between work projects, I enjoy fly fishing, outdoor exploration and riding motorbikes, which I often write about elsewhere on this website.
Please visit the Work With Me page to learn how I can help you get your project rolling or just give me a call.
