The More Things Change…

December 4, 2021 by travelingwithtools, posted in Motorsports

So I went and paid a visit to the SKUSA SuperNats at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Wednesday afternoon. It was the first day of practice and reports pegged the number of entries at nearly 500. A few scenes from Hebgen over recent days. Very different from the same time last year, with the lake at full pool and the weed beds not yet really growing. Last year the water was six feel lower and the Callibaetis dry fly action was superb. Mostly a bobber game this year. #flyfishing
3 days rowing around Henry's Lake for this one fish. 🤷 I'm on Hebgen in Montana now, and it's too early in the season for the quality dry fly fishing to ramp up. I can't decide where I'd best spend my remaining time... only a couple weeks left before work is calling.! #troutbum
My posts have been bug centric because there have been no fish to show. "Fishing isn't about the fish", says someone smartly...
Whaddya know, I hit 1000 posts and didn't even notice. Ya think I'd at least get a "thanks for your loyalty" note, or something. Harrumph.
That 5x tippet looks gigantic... but when I went to 6x, I broke off the only fish that ate my flav cripple!
Chasing bugs on the Henry's Fork again... yesterday I got introduced to a new species to me, the Flav (Drunella flavilinea). #flyfishing
Homer's just had a swim in a pond off the Shoshone River trail.🐾 #roaddog
Hebgen Lake from Cherry Creek.
Back in Last Chance, ID. My happy place (one of them). #happyplace
Thinking about adding a toad to the travelingwithtools roadshow. Please, talk me out of it! (No, really... if you know of a good but cheap Samurai, let me know) 😉

Finally got around to fixing this broken exhaust tab on the 1090. Was much easier than I feared... and Chevy engine orange is a fair match! #1090adventure
